I'm the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

After more than a decade in post production — spanning theatrical trailers, unscripted documentary, competition reality, and music content — that's the role I've made my own. Not just getting things done, but building the systems, schedules, and trust that let everyone around me do their best work.

I've supervised post for Netflix, Discovery, Food Network, Paramount+, Hallmark, and Amazon Studios. I've managed 80+ deliverables across simultaneous productions, stood up fully remote workflows from scratch, and helped productions close out cleanly with zero delivery failures. I started my career in theatrical marketing — conforming teasers and trailers for studios like Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, and Weinstein Company — where a single wrong frame has real consequences. That foundation never left me.

What I actually do

Post production is part logistics, part diplomacy, part detective work. I design workflows that eliminate bottlenecks before they happen. I translate technical complexity for executives and creative intent for vendors. I know when a situation calls for a detailed status report and when it just needs a five-minute call.

My favorite compliment I've ever received on the job: "We didn't have to worry — Joe had it handled."

That's the standard I hold myself to on every project.

Who I work with

I partner with production companies, studios, and networks that need a post supervisor who can step into complexity and bring order to it — whether that's a single high-profile documentary or a multi-show slate running concurrently. I'm equally comfortable as an embedded team member or an outside consultant brought in to solve a specific problem. If you're building something and need someone who owns the process end-to-end, I'd love to hear about it.📩 post@josephvales.com
